Child Nutrition in Zimbabwe is up by over 60%
Save the Children says that acute child nutrition in Zimbabwe has risen by over 60% when compared with 2007 figures.
Severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is defined as a weight-for-height measurement of 70% or less. These children are simply wasting away and aid is needed desperately.
Approximately 50% of Zimbabwes population are now in need of food aid.
As well as this, Zimbabwe is in the grip of a spreading cholera epidemic.
ZANE is providing food and medical aid to suffering children and is involved in projects which enable people to rebuild their ravaged communities and develop sustainable lifestyles. This means that they will be able to grow their own food and sustain their own families. ZANE is providing a model for the future regeneration of Zimbabwean communities.
